Discovering this region is like turning the pages of a history book while riding through lush fields, along white sand beaches, past quaint thatched cottages and ancient churches; the combination of these elements has created in Normandy a unique region. Our journey takes us toward Brittany via Mont Saint-Michel, the renowned UNESCO World Heritage site. The following days will be filled with sweeping views as our route alternates between the green and rolling countryside and the rough rocky coast.

Our trip surpassed our expectations. We expected a great biking trip, which we experienced. We did not anticipate that we would laugh as much as we bonded with our travel group on the rides and during meals; that we would learn as much about the French culture and history… and that this would all take place in strikingly beautiful and varied locations.
— Elizabeth VorysFrom Viking settlements and the Battle of Hastings in 1066 to the D-Day landing during World War II, Normandy is filled with history for families to discover together. But it's the enticing separate activities -- the afternoons that kids spend horseback riding, racing quads and sand-surfing on the beach, while their parents enjoy leisurely afternoons of cycling, sightseeing and kicking back to sip Calvados—that really set the five-day Normandy Family Biking tour from Butterfield & Robinson apart.
Family Vacation CriticThis trip is rated Enthusiast. While most of the riding is relatively easy, expect to contend with the occasional challenging climb. On a couple of days, the ride is longer than the average 40-50 km (25-30 mi.), although the terrain on these days is relatively flat.
