B&R Guides

B&R Guides

At Butterfield & Robinson, we are always seeking new faces to fill the multi-faceted role of a B&R Guide. The word “guide” doesn’t really do justice to the dynamic über-travellers at the helm of our trips around the world.

B&R guides are an exceptional group. They are architects, musicians, athletes, art historians, lawyers, teachers, students, chefs, writers… all sharing a love of travel. We believe that the best guides are people who bring with them a great attitude, a passion for travel, deep knowledge of the regions in which they guide, insider access, energy, character, charisma, confidence and creativity.

Think you have what it takes?

So, think you have what it takes to join their ranks? Here’s your first test: thorough form completion. To apply for a position as a B&R Guide, you’ll need to complete our online application form. We want to hear about you: your travels, your professional accomplishments, any technical or other relevant skills, what languages you speak and (of course!) why you think you’d make a great B&R Guide. (Note that you must attach a résumé and cover letter to this form in order to finish the submission.)

Our guides possess a drive for perfection, curiosity about the world (and that which lies upon it), local expertise and insider access, a youthful attitude, energy, exuberance and desire for fun. These ideas remain at the root of how a guide moves, thinks and acts. Our guides manage every moment of our trips with these goals in mind. They are restless in the pursuit of their desire to create great experiences for our travellers and they love sharing their expertise in the regions we visit. When they are on the road with our suppliers and travellers, they do it all. They are exceptional hosts, local experts, leaders, performers, interpreters, mechanics, coaches, connoisseurs, and overall great travel companions.

B&R guides love to travel, and love to share their knowledge and experiences with others. They bring insider access and unique knowledge that brings special value to the trips they guide. They have charisma and confidence that they share with our travellers and their colleagues. It reveals itself in the way they interact with people, the way they problem solve, the way they strive for excellence in many aspects of their lives.

We thank all applicants for their interest in B&R, but only those candidates with the required skills and qualifications noted here will be contacted for an interview
